Benefits

Medical Benefits

The City of Fernie pays 100% of the premiums for the Medical Services Plan of BC for all regular full-time and regular part-time CUPE 2093 employees normally scheduled to work 17.5 hours per week or more.

Extended Health Benefits

Pacific Blue Cross provides extended health benefits to all regular full-time and regular part-time CUPE 2093 employees normally scheduled to work 17.5 hours per week or more.

Pacific Blue Cross benefits include varying levels of coverage for dental care, orthodontic services, vision care, prescriptions, and paramedical services such as physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage, naturopathy, acupuncture, podiatry, psychologist care, and speech-language pathology.

Pensions

Permanent employees of the City of Fernie are enrolled in the BC Municipal Pension Plan.

Members of the pension plan can view their contributions online by logging into the My Account portal.
